Australia’s First Hydrogen refuelling station officially Opens

Australia’s federal Industry and science minister has unveiled the nation’s first hydrogen fuelled car – the Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell at the Hyundai Headquarters in Sydney, NSW. The ix35 Fuel Cell is the first hydrogen fuelled vehicle to be permanently based in Australia. It is said to have reached Australia in 2014 and was on test runs until now when it officially went live to open the doors to our emission free hydrogen powered future!

The hydrogen fuel station in Macquarie Park | Sydney uses gas supplied by Coregas Australia but soon expects to create its own hydrogen onsite through electrolyses and solar panels. The awesome Hyundai ix35 Fuel Cell is refuelled from empty to full in approximately 5 minutes and can drive a range of approx. 300 km and the car has top speeds of 160 km/hr and speeds 0-100km/hr in 12.5 seconds under standard conditions.

This is a bright sign for the future of clean fuel and Australia!
